Recycle Collection is quite surprising. This project raises many questions. What is the real meaning of terms: new, waste, use, reuse, value, beauty, ugliness, art, mass production, handcraft etc.?
This project is created as a process which gives a new cycle of life to new but discarded nylon stockings that have not passed factory quality control. The collection reflects modern world`s philosophy of waste repurposing and preservation of traditional crafts.

Nylon stockings innately evoke pictures of elegance, something gentle, beautiful and feminine, but here they are used to create opposite images such as bumpiness, nods, hardness and blackness with all its shades.

In the light of that statement, this collection negates beauty as the only dimension, while ugliness and darkness stop being taboo themes and acquire aesthetic value.

As noticeable at first sight, this project celebrates almost forgotten handcraft - hand knitting. Hours and hours of stocking threads preparation as well as countless hours our diligent “grandmother” Marica spent knitting are invested in production of a single chair cover. Are we talking about art or serial production? The borderline between these two is very thin here. Other manipulation methods used in this project are reknitting or stretching of different density threads to create a shadow play and the effect of multi-colorfulness within a single color.
